Adjustable Console Bearing

Konecranes is now featuring an adjustable console bearing as a standard product feature for our jib cranes. This will not only significantly better the usability of the crane in comparison to current jib cranes, the new jib cranes will also make beam adjustments both exceedingly accurate and simple. Undoubtedly, due to its many uses, the jib crane is one of the most imperative pieces of lifting equipment.

The jib crane allows machining cells, warehouses and workstations to stay in operation, while aiding overhead cranes on production lines.  Because jib cranes are not as structurally limited as most types of lifting equipment and boast easy installation, jib cranes can be used amongst all sorts of customers, from assembly lines to small workshops, even nuclear plants and harbors.

Safe and Sound

During the process of designing our jib crane range, Konecranes kept in mind comfort and safety.
The main disconnect switch is offered in wall mounted models or can also be placed on a pillar, and is just one of the numerous safety features delivered by Konecranes. Additionally, a separate emergency stop button is positioned on the hoist pendant for increased safety.  

The special Konecranes adjustable console bearing permits easy horizontal beam adjustment during and even after the commissioning process, unlike traditional jib cranes which require disassembly in case of erratic self-movement of the beam. Using Konecranes’ unique style of adjustable console bearing, horizontal beam adjustment is performed easily, before or after the commissioning process. This is different from the typical jib crane, which requires disassembly in the event of erratic beam movement.

The inadvertent trolley and beam movements are reduced by the accurate alignment of the beam, decreasing the probability of damages to plant equipment, in addition to plant personnel.
The beam’s precise alignment reduces the unintentional movements of the trolley and beam when the crane is loaded. This minimizes the possibility of damages to plant personnel and equipment.

IPUP and IPUW

Standard features:

Jib slewing: manual

Fixing IPUW: wall brackets, optional pillar brackets

Fixing IPUP: standard base plate; optionally with large bolt or base plate

Beam: IPE, bottom support.
Equipped with adjustable console bearing

Power feeding: flat cable festoon on galvanized c-tracks, main switch and rising cable

Hoist travelling: as per chain hoist selection

Operational and technical benefits:

  • Low Headroom: this sort of crane, IPU crane construction, is an ideal fit even for lower buildings because of the low   headroom allowed.
  • Durability: festoon system on galvanized c-track combined with a strong IPE profile beam equals as a truly durable and robust jib crane product.

XMOW and XMOP

Standard features:

Fixing XMOW: wall brackets, optional pillar brackets

Fixing XMOP: standard base plate, optional large bolt cage or base plate

Hoist travelling: manual pull/push trolley, inverter controlled motor trolley optional.

Jib slewing: manual

Power feeding: flat cable under profile, along with rising cable and main switch.

Beam: XM hollow profile, top support.
Equipped with adjustable console bearing.

Technical and operational benefits:

Low deadweight: Due to the lighter XM profile beam in comparison to IPE profiles on the market, stress is reduced towards building structure

Outreach dimension: With XMO cranes, a larger working area is available below the crane, due to the cranes’ hook outreach dimension; this is thanks to profile internal beam and trolley supported from top
